Ecobank to Reopen Parkade Branch in Bulawayo Following $4 Million Heist

Ecobank has announced the reopening of its Parkade Branch in Bulawayo tomorrow, December 2, 2024, after months of closure following a daring heist that saw over USD 4 million stolen.
In a statement, the bank thanked its customers for their patience during this challenging period. “Dear customer, we are happy to announce that our Parkade Branch in Bulawayo will reopen tomorrow, 2/12/24. We thank you for your patience and support,” said Ecobank.
The branch’s reopening comes amid ongoing investigations into the heist, which has been described as one of the largest in Zimbabwe’s financial history. Authorities have intensified efforts to apprehend the armed robbers, who are believed to have fled to South Africa.
Police sources confirmed that Interpol has been engaged to assist in tracing the suspects across borders. The international collaboration aims to bring the culprits to justice and recover the stolen funds.
As Ecobank resumes operations at the Parkade Branch, the public remains hopeful for progress in the investigation, which continues to grip the nation.
