Zodwa Wabantu gets engaged to new beau

Congratulations are in order for Zodwa Wabantu and her new beau Bongani Masina, 34, after they revealed they got engaged in December and are head over heels in love.

The couple have been together for a year and seven months and have been inseparable.

“He came one day with flowers and put a ring on it. Every 21st of every month, you must know it’s our anniversary,” Zodwa told TshisaLIVE.

“I don’t want to die without sex, I don’t want to die without a ring on my finger. Even if I get married 11 or 17 times, I will put it on. I’m that b*tch. I work hard to be happy.”

This is Zodwa’s fourth public attempt at love. While she’s known for dating younger men, there’s only a seven-year age gap between her and Bongani.

“Have you seen me dating a man my age? Never.”

Asked if they’ve set a wedding date, Zodwa said a celebration was on the cards, but she was open about what it would entail.

“I don’t think I want a white wedding, but just know with me, anything is possible. It’s up to me. I live my life. I could wake up one day and want to throw a wedding celebration. It’s not something we will plan. I could go to home affairs and do it that way. I do what I want but I don’t think I want people to be eating my money. I don’t like people that much.”

In December Zodwa was mugged and lost her phone in Kempton Park and went off the radar for months.

While many speculated she was in hiding after she attacked a patron at KwaKhehla tavern in Delmas, Mpumalanga, in December, Zodwa said she merely took time off.

“I couldn’t get my log in details for social media. I took that as a sign that my ancestors wanted me to take time off from everything. Because I saw the way things were going. I went as far as quitting alcohol. I stopped drinking seven months ago because my ancestors told me to stop.”

Zodwa said if anyone disrespects her, she will assault them and they should know that. “I will never disappear. No-one can stand before me. Any b* that tries to mess with me, I will beat them up.

‘‘Some of these b***s need a beating. In my bloodline, I don’t want to be disrespected or belittled. Rather have your own alcohol and your table. I don’t want nonsense, that’s why I don’t go out.” -Times
