Neville Mutsvangwa to spend more time in jail As judge steps down from case, citing ‘personal reasons’

Neville Mutsvangwa, the son of Zanu PF officials Monica and Christopher Mutsvangwa, will continue to remain incarcerated as High Court judge Esther Muremba has stepped down from his case due to undisclosed “personal reasons.”

The case has now been sent back to the High Court registrar for reassignment to another judge.

Mutsvangwa, aged 44, was arrested on charges of forex trading and money laundering nearly three weeks ago. Despite his attempts to secure bail, Harare magistrate Dennis Mangosi initially rejected his plea. Mutsvangwa then filed an appeal at the High Court.

The ruling on his bail application was scheduled for last Wednesday but was delayed as the investigating officer’s report was missing from the docket. The case has since been postponed.
