Mine duo in court over 2015 employee murder

FILABUSI – Two Filabusi men from Empire 16 Mine in Matabeleland South have appeared in court charged with murder on a fellow miner.

Qhubani Ndlovu and Qondisani Ncube, who were 40 and 29 respectively when they committed the crime in 2015, appeared were brought in court on Wednesday.

Court heard that the deceased Talent Ndlovu, who was 24 then, had gone to ask for his overdue payment from Qhubani Ndlovu, who was the paymaster.

The paymaster then told the now deceased that they had not yet received money from management.

Ncube and Ndlovu, court heard, immediately left the mine to go and collect gold ore using a company truck and left their Datsun 120Y vehicle parked at the premises.

When they returned, they found one of the car tyres deflated using a sharp object.

The duo, it is alleged, then force marched Ndlovu into the kitchen accusing him of the mischief.

One of the witnesses confirmed they heard noises coming from the kitchen after which the duo left the mine using the company truck, later dropping Ndlovu some six kilometers from the mine.

The two went to report a case of malicious damage to property and by the time the state authorities found Ndlovu, he had passed on.
