US$2m for Kadoma showgrounds refurbishment

Businessman Tinashe Sekeramayi eyes to invest US$2 million for the sprucing up of the Kadoma showgrounds into a state-of-the-art exhibition centre.

The young entrepreneur (27) told ChaminukaNews24 that he would work with the Kadoma Agricultural Show Society (KASS) to transform the place into an international trade fair centre

He added that the developments would start in July through his stewardship as the director of the newly registered company New Dubai.

“I am coming in as an investor with substantives powers and I will spend US$2 million on that project. It’s going to last for about 20 to 30 years. I have a partnership agreement with the management,”

“Kadoma showgrounds will be privatized into International Trade Fair (ITF) centre. I am taking over the premises and working in partnership with the with several stakeholders that include Kadoma Agriculture Show Society we will bring a new look at that place.”

Sekeramayi said three main activities will be hosted at the ITF annually.

“We are expecting to build a state of art min market place with private facilities, school, shopping mall and exhibition halls where wholesalers, retailers and small and medium enterprises will exhibit,”

“We are going to host three activities a year which are the trade fair and exhibition center, August Agri show and Dec Carnival and Zim got talent show.”

KASS chairperson Crispen Dirao confirmed Sekeramayi’s investment interests.

“We just spoke over the phone and we are yet to have a physical meeting tomorrow,” he said.
