CHITUNGWIZA municipality councillors have reelected CCC Councillor for Ward 7 Lovemore Maiko as mayor.
Maiko bounced back following a clean sweep of all 25 wards in Chitungwiza by the Citizens Coalition for Change CCC party.
Clr Maiko won by 29 votes against ZANU-PF candidate Leah Chidamba (PR) who received only two votes.
He will be deputised by Clr Jerita Mutingwende of ward 12, who won with 29 votes.
CCC won in all the five constituencies for MPs and all the 25 council seats.
Maiko was among the CCC councillors who were recalled by the Douglas Mwonzora-led MDC.
